Pre-School Room at Happy Feet Nursery Carluke

Our Pre-School Room at Happy Feet Carluke offers a bright, engaging environment where children aged 3 to 5 years are supported in becoming confident, capable and curious learners.

The room is open and spacious, carefully designed to meet the developmental needs of this age group. With a wide range of accessible, age-appropriate resources, the space encourages children to make choices, explore freely and engage in meaningful play and learning experiences — both indoors and in our outdoor areas.

We follow the Curriculum for Excellence, providing a well-rounded approach that nurtures growth across all areas of development. Through hands-on, practical learning, children are supported in becoming Successful Learners, Confident Individuals, Responsible Citizens and Effective Contributors.

At this stage, children are naturally inquisitive, and our team works closely with each child to build on their interests and ideas. Staff gently guide and challenge them at their own pace, encouraging independence, resilience and positive relationships with others. Whether working individually or in groups, children benefit from a caring environment that promotes creativity, collaboration and self-expression.

Strong relationships with families are central to everything we do. We value open communication and keep parents and carers closely involved in their child’s learning and development, celebrating each milestone along the way.

As children prepare for the transition to school, we ensure they leave our Pre-School Room feeling confident, capable and excited for what’s ahead — with strong foundations that support a love of learning for life.

Induction & Settling In

We understand that starting Nursery can feel like a big transition. That’s why we offer a free settling-in session before your child officially joins us. This visit allows you and your child to meet the team, explore the room and begin to form positive relationships in a calm, welcoming environment.

You’re welcome to stay for as long as you need during this initial visit — we want you to feel completely confident that your child is comfortable and happy.

Throughout your child’s journey with us, their Key Worker will be your main point of contact, offering regular updates and always available to answer any questions or concerns. We also hold Parent Evenings during the year to discuss your child’s development and celebrate their progress.
