Baby Room at Happy Feet Nursery Carluke

At Happy Feet Nursery in Carluke, our Baby Room offers a gentle and nurturing introduction to nursery life for children aged 6 weeks to 2 years. The space is designed with comfort, calm and security at its core, providing a safe and loving environment where babies can begin to explore the world around them.

We understand how important those early weeks and months are — not only for the child but for families too. That’s why our experienced and caring team works closely with parents and carers to build strong, trusting relationships from the very beginning. We’re here to make the transition into nursery as smooth and reassuring as possible.

The Baby Room is soft and soothing, but also rich in sensory opportunities to support early development. With thoughtful play experiences and responsive care, our team creates a space where each child can grow in confidence, develop communication skills and feel secure in their surroundings.

Through a blend of open-ended play, gentle routines and individual attention, we focus on the needs and interests of every baby. Whether it’s tummy time, sensory play, music or quiet moments of comfort, every part of the day is shaped by what matters most to each child.

We use the ‘Together We Can and We Will’ planning approach to create personalised learning experiences that support curiosity, early social skills and emotional development. Our focus is on helping babies feel confident in themselves and connected to those around them.

At the heart of our Baby Room is a commitment to well-being, love and security. It’s a place where babies are not only cared for, but truly known, valued and supported as they begin their journey through the early years.

Induction Period

Starting nursery is a big step, and at Happy Feet we aim to make the transition as smooth and reassuring as possible. Before your child’s first day, we’ll invite you in for a free settling-in session. This allows your child to get familiar with the environment while we begin building a trusting relationship with you both.

You’re welcome to stay during the session until you feel confident your child is happy and settled. We encourage open communication with your child’s Key Worker and nursery staff from day one. Regular parent evenings also offer the chance to discuss your child’s progress, development and next steps.
