Pre-School Room at Happy Feet Nursery Larkhall

Welcome to our Pre-School Room — a bright, spacious environment thoughtfully designed to support the learning and development of children aged 3 to 5 years.

Our large open-plan playroom is divided into distinct areas, each filled with high-quality, age-appropriate resources and equipment that are easily accessible to children. The room is carefully planned to encourage independence, creativity, collaboration and exploration, both indoors and outdoors.

We follow the Curriculum for Excellence, offering a rich and balanced programme that supports all areas of children’s development. With engaging, hands-on learning experiences across all eight curricular areas, we aim to help every child become a Successful Learner, Confident Individual, Responsible Citizen and Effective Contributor.

Children in our Pre-School Room are encouraged to take an active role in their own learning. Staff work closely with each child to recognise their interests, spark curiosity, and gently challenge them to grow and develop at their own pace. Whether working independently, alongside peers, or supported by an adult, children benefit from a nurturing and stimulating environment that helps them thrive.

We place great importance on building strong partnerships with families. Regular communication ensures parents and carers are involved and informed every step of the way, as we celebrate each child’s progress, achievements, and growing confidence.

We have high expectations for every child — and support each individual to flourish as they prepare for their next steps in education and beyond.

Induction & Settling In

We understand that starting Nursery can feel like a big transition. That’s why we offer a free settling-in session before your child officially joins us. This visit allows you and your child to meet the team, explore the room and begin to form positive relationships in a calm, welcoming environment.

You’re welcome to stay for as long as you need during this initial visit — we want you to feel completely confident that your child is comfortable and happy.

Throughout your child’s journey with us, their Key Worker will be your main point of contact, offering regular updates and always available to answer any questions or concerns. We also hold Parent Evenings during the year to discuss your child’s development and celebrate their progress.
